i was wrong

When I started gearing up for the pace of ministry at New Life Church, I had a little analogy in my head. I was pretty sure it was going to be like getting on one of those moving sidewalks at the airports. You know…when you’re going at a pace that seems oddly fast? Compared to where I’ve been…it was going to be a much more rapid pace.
I was wrong.
After spending 10 days there, I’ve had some time to re-assess the church as a whole and it’s not like a moving sidewalk. It’s more like those people you see standing on the docks waiting to water ski. Their life preservers are on, they grasp the rope tightly and even bend their knees a little.
And then they get whipped forward with such force it usually ends up dragging them along on their stomachs. That’s a much better anaology.
And if you’re not quite ready for that pace….it can be a little more painful.

Are you saying that you like that pace?

I’m saying that I love that pace.
I don’t like it. I absolutely feed off of it. It’s why I’m moving to Arkansas!
