ransom

As promised, here’s the short film titled Ransom.

Ransom from neil greathouse on Vimeo.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

The statement that Kait makes several times in this film stands out.

“I didn’t do anything.”

It means two separate things at two separate times. The first time, as she screams it at her captors…she says it as a cry for help. It isn’t fair… she doesn’t deserve this treatment…this can’t be happening.

The second time…as she is being cut loose from the ropes that bind her…she says it as a moment of awareness. She doesn’t deserve the freedom….she didn’t do anything to deserve it.

Grace… We don’t deserve it because we can’t earn it.

God paid our ransom.

The goal for me now is to try and make my life worth the ransom that was paid for it.

Hi Andy.

There’s definitely some things we’d change if we could go back and do it all over. We just liked the message and it was easy to speak to students after it was done.

I’ve emailed you some information about getting you a copy.

Awesome.
I’m sitting here in shock.
I love how your video so clearly portrays our depravity, and the incredible depth of God’s Grace. We don’t deserve it, but He offers it freely.

Huge props to you and your team for not being safe, for putting yourselves into this project, and keeping it WAY out on the edge.

I’m sure once your students saw this, you had their complete and undivided attention.

I’d love the opportunity to use this video at our church. Let me know what I need to do.

Keep up the great work!
