Blog

stats, I beseech thee

An amazing guy (who you should check out) known simply as "The Original Muddy Puppy" recently described an amazing phenomenon commonly known as "blog stat crunkedness".

Just made that up.

In response to his post of amazing numbers recently, I’d like to confess that I have a problem.

For almost a month… I’ve only had 2 people visit this illustrious blog known as neilgreathouse.com

What you say? The cries of the people began rising above the ashes of the burning web 2.0 community that lay in ruins…

Calm down. It’s a blog. And apparently, mine’s broken. I haven’t been able to check a single stat in over a month.

At first, I was frantically trying to get it fixed. Researching, begging, bribing, even cajortling (another made up word) people to try to fix it. Until one day…I just let it all slip through my fingers.

I was nearing the 2,000 mark on a daily basis when the radar screen went dead on this thing. And I’m still alive. Actually, it was quite freeing to be rid of all that nonsense. I was getting obsessed with it.

In the whole scope of things, it’s freed my writing up a bit. I don’t feel like I’m letting anyone down by not posting something so mesmerizing that it causes you sleepless nights.

So, in closing… My blog is broken. And so am I. So, if you’re person 2,001 visiting here on a daily basis…I thank you.

But I’ll never know about it unless this baby gets fixed. And I’m not in a rush.

Honest, man…I send links to friends to plug your videos and I’m STILL trying to get my pharmacist (an awesome Christian man!) to visit your website. Rest assured that I’m doing my fair share to make the world know all about what a wild and crazy man you are!
